A bright new DrinksWorks look

We love Avonmouth, but we think it's often forgotten in the list of Bristol's cultural highlights. It's a community of amazing people, businesses, and ideas, and we've been here for forty years, so we know - but we do agree it's a little lacking in colour. So we did our best to fix that, by comissioning a 110 foot mural across our industrial lot.

The mural brings new life to Avonmouth’s industrial estates, depicting a riot of colour and greenery as a DrinksWorks hummingbird darts across concrete walls. It’s a work by famous Brazilian street artist Ananda Nahu, whose murals have been seen around the world, from New York City to London, Newcastle to Rio De Janeiro - and now Bristol, too.

We're super excited about it. Joe, our Sales and Marketing Manager, said, “Our business has been based in Avonmouth since 1976. The area has always been very industrial - all buildings from the same hue of green, brown, and blues. We wanted to have a home that was more reflective of our business: lively, outgoing, and representative of our values.”

The Guardian recently published an article quoting numerous experts on how art in the workplace boosts productivity and success. Dr Craig Knight, a psychologist at the University of Exeter, says it is relatively simple: “If you enrich a space people feel much happier and work better; a very good way of doing this is by using art.”

We've found this to be the case. Our Director William Stockley said: “Avon Gorge Yard’s atmosphere has been elevated beyond belief, with the entire team’s spirits now lifted on every entry to its industrial space. We are lucky to have such inspiring and talented art become part of our home.”

Joe agreed: “We now have a home to be proud of. Amazing how a wall of colour can make you feel at the start of a day!”
